Derrick joined TTR Sotheby's International Realty as Partner in 2007. He currently serves as Co-Chief Operating Officer and Managing Broker for the firm’s Virginia offices. Previously, he worked for Realogy Corp. in Madison, New Jersey as Vice President of National Sales in the Real Estate Franchise Group, and as the Mid-Atlantic Regional Vice President of Membership Sales for Sotheby’s International Realty. Prior to his involvement with residential brokerage, Derrick worked in hotel development, acquisitions, and franchise sales for several national lodging chains. Derrick is a graduate of Cornell University with an undergraduate degree in Hotel Administration and an MBA with a concentration in finance. Derrick lives in McLean, Virginia with his wife and two college-age children. He is committed to being engaged in the local community. Derrick previously served as President of the Langley Swim & Tennis Club and as Board Chair of McLean Project for the Arts, an organization dedicated to promoting visual arts within the community. In 2018, he was appointed to the Community Business Center Task Force to develop a vision and long-term redevelopment plan for downtown McLean. He is also active in leadership positions within the industry, particularly the Northern Virginia Association of Realtors, an organization representing over 13,000 real estate professionals. He has served as Treasurer, Chairman of the Grievance Committee, mediator in broker arbitration cases, member of the Professional Standards and Standard Forms committees, and most recently as the 2021 President of the NVAR Board of Directors. He also served on the National Association of Realtors Board of Directors from 2019 to 2022. Derrick currently serves on the Board of Directors of Bright MLS, one of the largest and most forward-thinking MLS’s in the country representing over 100,000 subscribers across six Mid-Atlantic states. Derrick is a licensed Broker in Virginia, Maryland and the District of Columbia.
