As the daughter of a Marine, Sheri moved to a new home every two years of her life across the nation until moving to the Washington metropolitan area in 1982. No stranger to moving, Sheri had the rare opportunity to live in Alexandria, Arlington, Silver Spring, Bethesda, Georgetown, Dupont Circle, Chevy Chase and finally settling in Clarendon’s Lyon Village in 2001. With a degree in Psychology from George Mason University and a student in their very first computer graphics class, Sheri’s 25-year career as a graphic designer began at Barrow & Company, an advertising agency focused on residential developments. Her career continued to grow when she worked for Knapp Marketing Communications, where she designed materials for JBG Companies, Barrueta and The Bernstein Companies. Sheri then worked for 10 years at a boutique graphic design studio, Fathom Creative, located in Dupont Circle. While with Fathom, Sheri had the good fortune of working with Michael Rankin and Jonathan Taylor to create their brand for the newly formed Tutt, Taylor & Rankin. Deciding to go solo, Sheri Grant Design was launched in 2008. Landing Georgetown Cupcake as one of her first clients was a coup. While immersed in the world of cupcakes, Sheri continued to design for her core clients in architecture, interior design and residential real estate. With this extraordinary gift of entrepreneurship, marketing and design, while truly understanding the communities she’s lived in, Sheri became a neighborhood expert, and it was a natural progression for her to find the passion of connecting people with homes. When her client, Ruth Boyer O’Dea, asked Sheri to become her real estate business partner, Sheri’s passion became a reality, and also came full circle working again with the partners of TTR Sotheby’s International Realty. Long time residents of Arlington, Sheri, her husband and twin daughters are very involved with the Overlee Community Pool and Holy Trinity in Georgetown, where they are parishioners and the girls attend school. Most mornings, you can find Sheri hiking the Potomac Overlook Trails with her yellow lab, visiting with neighbors and staying involved in the Lyon Village community.
