Ever notice that some homes catch your eye while others wind up going unnoticed? Your star sign may be the culprit. Homebody Taurus craves comfort and ease, while artsy Pisces needs an unfussy floor plan and visionary Aquarius likes eclecticism—and a room with a view. But busy Gemini needs a home that’s as flexible as they are, so as their zodiac season (May 21 to June 21) gets underway, it’s time to ask: How do you design the perfect home for a Gemini?
“Geminis are often holding so much at once,” says Anthony Perrotta, an astrologer and interior designer based in Rhode Island in the U.S. In terms of a home, “something more open, with multi-use spaces, would be ideal.” An expertly remodeled Victorian in San Francisco’s affluent Cow Hollow neighborhood ticks all the boxes. Beyond its soaring ceilings and sculptural walls, it offers a combination dining and living room, a master suite with a built-in desk (and killer view of the Golden Gate Bridge) and plenty of roof space. The gourmet kitchen, with its built-in banquette, is the perfect spot for spontaneous get-togethers over coffee.

Geminis like homes that don’t require too much upkeep and offer some flexibility, says Perrotta. “Their taste is constantly evolving based on something new that they’ve learned or seen.” Convertible rooms, open floor plans and moveable partitions are smart options to look for.
A stylish central London flat only a 10-minute walk from Liverpool Street Station is as versatile as it is space-savvy. Celebrated designer Sophie Ashby equipped the three airy bedrooms with sizable wardrobes—“perfect for all Gemini’s different personalities,” notes Perrotta—and ensuite vanities to keep counter clutter at bay. The open-plan kitchen offers plenty of room to gather, while the reception area, with a partially closed booth, is ideal for video calls and focused work.

Ruled by Mercury, Gemini is deeply tied to community, family and friends, says Perrotta. They love to play host and hear different perspectives, and expose themselves to new cultures. Being close to street life may matter to them, making their neighborhood as important as their home.
An elegant apartment in Paris built in 1889 epitomizes la vie Parisienne. It’s a short walk from the famously historic district of Le Marais, where the vibe feels authentic, eclectic and lively, with independent restaurants, boutiques and culture aplenty. The heaviness of the old stone building might not seem quintessentially Gemini, says Perrotta, but they will be charmed by Old World details such as tall windows, chevron parquet floors, plaster moldings and marble fireplaces.

As far as palettes go, Gemini is associated with yellows, blues and lighter colors. However, they can balance those hues with darker tones. “Stripes are a must,” says Perrotta, and they’re not afraid to mix patterns. “They can bring together two unlikely palettes and make them work,” he says. They’re also good at playing with scale and proportion.
Above all, Gemini wants to live somewhere that’s as interesting as they are, with features that make their life easier. “They want something that will fit into their busy lifestyle, not hinder it,” says Perrotta. “They need a home that is versatile and keeps them creatively interested. It needs to be a space that gives them freedom above all else.”
