OktoberWest – Sep 5–6, 2025
Steamboat’s signature fall celebration, OktoberWest, returns with a blend of craft beverages, live music, and mountain town flair. The festivities kick off on Friday with a Beer Stroll through downtown, sampling seasonal brews at participating restaurants. Saturday’s event at Steamboat Mountain Village features a beer garden, live music, a beef cook-off, stein-holding competition, and family-friendly activities. New this year: a holiday vendor market and optional on-site childcare.
Steamboat Farmers’ Market – Through Sep 20
Support local artisans and farmers at the Steamboat Farmers’ Market, open Saturdays on 7th and Yampa streets from 9 AM to 2 PM. Browse fresh produce, handmade goods, and enjoy live music in a vibrant community atmosphere.
Sunset Happy Hours – Through Sep 28
As the days shorten, enjoy Sunset Happy Hour at Steamboat Ski Area. 5 to 8 PM Take the gondola up to Thunderhead Lodge and enjoy live music, a full bar, and light appetizers while soaking in stunning views of the Yampa Valley at sunset. Tickets run $30 for ages 5 and up, free for kids under 5, and complimentary for Ikon Pass holders. A family-friendly way to relax and enjoy the mountain atmosphere.

Steamboat’s aspen trees put on a spectacular show each fall. Peak foliage typically occurs in late September to early October. With the drought this year colors are expected to peak earlier, anywhere from Sep 10 – Sep 24. Here are some top spots to witness the vibrant colors:
- Buffalo Pass – Known for its expansive views of golden aspen groves, accessible by car, bike, or foot.
- Hahn’s Peak – Offers panoramic views of the Yampa Valley from one of the area’s most iconic high points.
